The Republican Party of Olmsted County (RPOC) meets annually for a Convention, with business varying over the two-year election cycle of the Minnesota Legislature and US House. This year, on February 28th, we are selecting delegates to endorse Congressional and Statewide Republican candidates and guide the 2026 MnGOP Legislative Platform and other defining documents.

Our endorsements are a crucial part of successfully winning and implementing the massive reforms by which this state can thrive again. CD1 & State Convention will be an exciting time to meet with candidates and teams as we debate how and what we are winning this year as a party.

February 28th will be our 2026 Convention (at Byron Middle School, see map below). Those elected as Delegates or Alternates by their local voting precinct team on Caucus Night will select fifty-seven delegates and one-hundred-and-fourteen alternates to attend or fill-in the Olmsted seats to the CD1 Convention in Albert Lea on April 11th and the State Convention on May 30th & 31st in Duluth, as well as to help select or contribute to the winning platform.

Fifty-seven delegates will be elected on February 28th at Byron Middle School by the assembled body of all precinct Delegates and Alternates elected in Olmsted on Caucus night, this year (February 3rd). Please click here to register online or use the mail-in check registration form, here. Guests are welcome by invitation of a Delegate, one-per-Delegate. Candidates for CD1 and State Convention do not have to have been elected a Delegate or Alternate on Caucus Night, but only those Delegates or seated Alternates are voting members of Saturday's Convention.

After a big November election (Feb of 2027), the odd-year Convention will elect or re-elect local the bulk of the Executive Officers, including the Chair, Secretary, Vice-Chairs, etc., as well as the County's third class of Delegates (those to the State Central Committee, which governs intra-party matters and elects the State Chair, etc.).
