31 DAYS TO GET OUR VOTES IN
Absentee voting is open now at 2122 Campus Drive SE. No excuse needed — vote today, then help somebody else vote.
|
|
VOTE IN PERSON NOW — NO EXCUSE NEEDED
|
|
|
You can vote in person today. Right now the Campus Drive
elections office is the place in Olmsted County to do it.
Olmsted County Elections Office — open now
2122 Campus Drive SE, Suite 300, Rochester, MN 55904
Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm
All Olmsted County residents. Use the entrance on the Campus Drive side.
Not the downtown historic courthouse, and not the Government Center at 151 4th St SE.
|
Walk in — or vote from your car if you want to.
Phone when you arrive and they will come out to you.
|
| NO EXCUSE NEEDED. NO FORM. NO REASON TO GIVE. |
Minnesota has absentee voting, and that is all it has — there is no separate
thing you have to qualify for. You do not need a cause, an excuse or anybody's permission, and
your ballot counts exactly the same as one cast on November 3. It has been open since
September 18.
The only thing that changes during October is what happens to the ballot after you mark it. Until
October 16 it goes into an envelope and is counted later; from the 16th it goes
straight into the tabulator. Same ballot, same vote — just a shorter route
into the count.
So there is nothing to wait for. Go now.

Other locations open later in the month, on limited dates and with
conditions attached. Rather than print a schedule that changes, we keep it current in one place:

Voting early is the cheapest favour you can do a candidate.
Every early ballot cast now is one more vote we know we have, and it frees us to spend the last
four weeks finding the rest. Once you have voted, the campaigns can take you off their mail
list — and a month out, reaching one voter costs them more than $20. Every piece they do
not have to send you is money they can spend on somebody who has not made up their mind.

NEED A RIDE? GIVE A RIDE?
|
|
We are checking Republican voters off the list one at a time, and the
ones we lose are usually the ones who simply could not get there.
Email [email protected]
to schedule a ride to Campus Drive — for yourself, or for someone you know. Now, not on
November 3. A vote banked this week is a vote nobody has to chase in the last fortnight, and a
ride given today is worth two given on Election Day.
If you can drive, say so at the same address. We need drivers this week
and every week between now and November 2.

If everyone gives two or three hours a week, we will win this thing.
That is the whole ask. Not a title, not a commitment through
November — two or three hours, and the arithmetic takes care of itself. Doors on Saturday,
an evening on the phones, a literature drop on a day that suits you, or a ride to Campus Drive for
somebody who cannot get there alone.

FINSTAD: CUT TAXES
|
|
Even to people who think Jake sounds like a Republican, everyone can admit a clear difference: Finstad would cut your taxes, and Jake would raise them.

Every campaign site has a donate tab. They all need it.

The Volunteer Action Team matches people with work that fits the time they
actually have. An hour. An evening. A week. Door knocking, phone banking, literature drops, driving a
trailer, or re-supplying the walkers from your car if walking is no longer your thing.
VAT meets 6:30 PM every Monday at the office, 3518 55th St NW,
until after the election. A Right Insight training with the Finstad team runs from 4PM beforehand.
Door knocking every Saturday, morning or afternoon — one
hour, three hours, or all day. Walk a precinct in pairs. Maps, literature and a script provided.

FRAUD
|
|
At the League of Women Voters forum, Tina Liebling was asked
about fraud and the cost of living. She had just cited a billion-dollar Medicare fraud conviction in South
Florida:
|
|
“…I just saw in South Florida, one person was just convicted for a billion dollars in
Medicare fraud. This was in Florida. So this is a problem all across the country. It has
nothing to do with affordability in Minnesota at all. And, you know, but it is a very
serious problem. And we constantly have to try to stay ahead of the fraudsters.”
